ABOUT SALT AND SMOKE BBQ

Back in June 2014, Tom Schmidt (AKA: Lead Busser and Owner) and Pitmaster Haley Riley did something a bit ... unusual. They took a failing restaurant (RIP Nico), flipped it in a week, and opened Salt + Smoke on the Delmar Loop. It was a tight turnaround and one that had a lot of people going, "YOU SURE???"

Ten-plus years later, we've got eight locations across the St. Louis area (the Delmar Loop, Hampton, St. Charles, Ballpark Village, Ellisville, South County, Kirkwood, and Edwardsville) and we're still doing exactly what we set out to do – treating your meat right.

From our award-winning brisket smoked over post oak for 16 hours, St. Louis-style ribs, pulled pork, cherry smoked wings, and housemade sides that we still get people continuously saying it's the best they've ever had. This is St. Louis BBQ done Salt + Smoke-style.

The biggest thing for us, though? It's not only about the meat. It's about who you're eating it with. We've always believed that the best meals happen when you're surrounded by your Besties. That's who we cook for. Every plate, every time.

We're also proud members of the Green Dining Alliance, which means we're doing our part to reduce our environmental footprint with no plastic straws, no auto-filled waters, and working with local food pantries to make sure nothing goes to waste. We love St. Louis, and we want to take care of it.
